I have two Miyatas, a 1986 One Thousand in full touring mode, and a 1991 Nine 14, they are daily riders and I love them both. the TSB tubing cannot be beat for comfort, weight to strength, and ride quality.

I have a 1980s Carlton Cyclone that is in running condition but would like to restore. Knocks, scratches and rusty chrome. All original except saddle. Only 5 gears as originally sold, as I know its history. I would like to upgrade to 10 gears with period parts. Useful post and helpful. Looking to build knowledge and confidence before I attempt.

I bought a second hand Morzine for £100 and have turned it into a 1 x 8 speed flat bar urban commuter. I wish I had a paint job like your one though! It's stunning.

My first race bike was a gold Suntour Superbe. Sadly wrecked in a kermess crash when stationed in Belgium. Ended my short club racing career. Moved back to the US got a ‘screwed and glued’ Raleigh titanium frame. It defined ‘noodle’ with the tubing sourced from decommissioned Russian subs. Chainstay came unglued after a couple seasons. Warranty replaced with an RT 750 which was used on the road once. Harshest ride ever. Bought a Litespeed a couple weeks later. The RT has been on a succession of trainers since then. Not sure but I think the glued frames were made in the Kent Washington U.S. facility.

I got my brand new mk 4 chopper in 2023 in ultra violet, when I was 64, the neighbours think that It's strange riding it as an oap but who cares, I am happy.

Can you go backwards by converting a 130mm bike wheel set to fit a 126 mm frame by changing freehub, or removing washers or spacers?

Nice bike, Andy. I got caught twice with fake chains that snapped in the first few rides: one from eBay advertised as 'new Dura-ace 11-speed chain' and a second Shimano 11-speed chain from Amazon. I will not buy any chains from Amazon or eBay now, only direct from official bike shops/dealers.

I always wanted a Raleigh burner back in the early eighties.A few kids in the estate had them.I never got one.Eventually in 1984 I got a cheap immitation of a bmx.I never got a ride on a Raleigh burner.I wanted the gold coloured one😢 🇮🇪

I'm exactly here, I have a lot more post out... At the cost of putting a screwdriver through the frame. Hopefully will weld up ok. I'm definitely going to have to try this or gallium

Amazing Bike!!! Very nice Work on this real treasure. Just your Position is not quite fitting. Saddle is too high and back too far, handlebar doesn't offer its benefits, because it is turned up. Stem too low. But framesize is right here.

I test road one of these yesterday and it was surprisingly fun to ride and handles much better than i expected. It does feel a bit like cheating but its cheaper than the brompton, rides at about 20 mph, and can be ridden by anyone in the household. Here in the states the k one will average about 25 mph on th flat which is nice since it isnt just doing the work for you but augmenting what youre doing. Fold is nice for travel, intercity train, trunk, etc. Brompton always wins on fold size

I had a Raleigh Road Ace 1984 with the AX groupset for my 18th birthday in December, used it as my time trialler and broke the hour in 59.24 during the 1985 season. Best bike I ever owned!
